WHO AM I?
I'm currently a Senior UX Designer at QBurst Technologies in Trivandrum, Kerala. For more than 5 years, I've worked alongside cross-functional teams and clients from around the world to thoughtfully design and build digital products.
Outside of work, I enjoy digital art, 70s-90s rock music, video games and collecting Lego. My interests were greatly influenced by pop culture from the turn of the millenium.
ORIGIN STORY
While pursuing engineering in computer science, my skills in art and design led me to work for my college festival's design team, where I did all kinds of graphic design work, such as the festival's logo, posters and social media content. Very soon, I decided that I wanted to become a designer by profession.
My love for art and technology drew me to the world of user experience design. I was excited by the possibilities of combining art and technology to make new things that could be useful and delightful for people. This was the right career path for me.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
I am experienced with many great creative tools like Figma, Framer, Procreate, Davinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD (R.I.P) and more. Currently, Figma is my primary tool of choice for my major work.
I grew up with an iPad and went through different sketching apps before finally landing on Procreate. I was immediately hooked and it accelerated my journey to find and refine my art style. Check out my art here.
I've also taken an interest in video editing, through putting together highlight reels of me and my friends playing Valorant. As a result, I became quite familiar with Davinci Resolve.
PORTFOLIO WEBSITE
Initially I used Figma and Framer to make several iterations (I'm not going to say how many) of this portfolio. But these fancy tools didn't seem like they were really letting this website be as lightweight as it could be. I thought, why not build it on my own using a lightweight framework?
I chose Astro.js to build the website you're currently on and it turned out to be way more engrossing than I thought. Throughout this, I've learned so much about the things to consider while designing a website.
